Verena Bachinger, known professionally as “ena b,” is a singer, songwriter and guitarist originally from Austria. Over the past decade her musical journey has followed her real life travels around Europe and the Middle East.
In 2014 Verena began songwriting while studying composition and writing in Jerusalem, Israel. Verena experimented with multiple musical genres and performance styles for the next two years. In 2016 she moved to Lisbon, Portugal. Since then she has continued to hone her craft. Last year, she began releasing a series of singles as ena b. on SoundCloud.
The singer debuted on other streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music earlier this year with the song “Make Room.” On November 6, 2020 she released her follow-up single “A Fight for Love.” The song is a poetic and melancholy examination of the need we all share for human connection and how that sometimes conflicts with our assertion of individuality and desire for freedom.
Musically the song features a mellow finger-picked, clean electric guitar paired with Verena’s subdued yet soulful and heartfelt lead vocal. Strings color the mix along with minimalist percussion and bass. Soft background vocal harmonies swell in the chorus. The sound is soft, sad and beautiful.
